What if I’m unsure & on the fence about doing a boudoir session?
First of all, it’s an experience more than anything! It’s really a chance for you to relax and feel your most beautiful self, & who doesn’t want that? If you’re just not sure for whatever reason, I offer mini sessions so you can dip your toes in before investing in one of the larger packages. I’m also more than happy to schedule a phone call to help answer any questions & make you feel more comfortable about any reservations you might be having.
What should I bring to wear?
Bring the items that make you feel beautiful, sexy or that are meaningful to you.
Items you could consider, are:
- Bold jewelry
- Slouchy sweater or t-shirt
- Leather moto jacket
- Wedding accessories or meaningful personal items like your partner’s favorite t-shirt
- A fedora
- Masks or animal ears
- Sexy leg warmers or fence-net stockings
- Sexy pumps
- Lacy or strappy, creative lingerie styles | bodysuits | cute panties | see-through materials. *Steer clear of super basic bras, or the results will look more like a lingerie ad than a boudoir session.

What should I do for hair & makeup?
If your package does not already include H&MU, I HIGHLY recommend getting your hair and makeup done by a professional. Your session should be looked at as an investment, and you are paying for high quality results; things like bad hair or makeup won’t be digitally retouched nor your session redone, for those purposes. Professionals understand the heavy hand and technique required for your face to really pop on camera. Let me know if you’d like some recommendations.

What should I expect for my session?
Depending on which package you select, expect to spend 30 min-2 hours on your session. Once you book, I’ll be sending you a welcome email that details exactly what to expect and how to prepare; even where to park the day of your session!
The welcome email includes 3 different mood boards with a collection of poses and ideas, that fit different styles. The style you choose will help me get a better sense of the overall look you’re going for and will also aid me in providing you with a more customized experience.
Unless your package includes H&MU, when you arrive for your session I’ll start by reviewing with you the wardrobe pieces you’ve brought, and mutually agreeing on the posing positions to ensure you are completely comfortable. Your comfort, trust & overall experience are my #1 priorities!
I will provide light snacks and champagne, but please do not hesitate to let me know if you have allergies or would like to refrain from alcohol.
There will be a boudoir playlist on in the background, but I’m more than happy to play your preferred playlist of songs that make you feel sexy & confident!
Since I will be there to pose & guide you, don’t worry about how you should be posing; all you have to do is show up. You can relax, leave your insecurities at the door & enjoy the experience! I got you, babe!
What if I’m self conscience about my body?
Let’s be honest for a second. Even the most beautiful people on the planet have something about themselves they are self conscious about.
The truth is, our bodies are ever-changing and all we can really do is treat them right & take care of them to the best of our ability. Your body doesn’t have to be perfect, to be beautiful! 99% of the women who have come to me for their boudoir experience, have been self conscious about their bodies….only to be completely elated with the results of seeing themselves through my lens. I know how to use proper lighting and angles to bring your best attributes through the camera, so the end results allow you to focus on the things that make you so uniquely gorgeous.

The end-goal of your experience, is for you to discover that you don’t have to meet an unrealistic expectation of perfection, in order to be perfectly beautiful.
What if I break out before my session?
Anything temporary such as a blemish or stray hair, will automatically be retouched! Anything permanent such as a scar, stretch marks, cellulite or a mole, will only be retouched at your request. Sometimes these marks tell a story of strength or courage, so I don’t want to assume they are ugly or negative aspects of your body.
What if I’m not ready to show my bare body?
Although I always encourage women to embrace what they have, I completely understand of you’re not ready or simply don’t want to bare it all! Boudoir doesn’t have to be nude to be sexy or beautiful. One of my most liked photos of all time, only shows a small portion of a woman’s face and nothing of her body.
How will you keep people from knowing who I am if you post pictures of me?
I NEVER tag my clients in posts unless they ask me to, and I strive to ensure that the images I do post, do not show your full face or identifying tattoos/marks. (Again, unless they ask me to or don’t care.)
What if I don’t want you to post pictures of me?
Your comfort and trust are my #1 priorities. If you don’t want me to post any images of you, then I won’t! You are under no obligation to say “yes” when I ask your permission to post images. As much as I would love to show my work to help my business grow, the reason you are doing this is for YOU. I absolutely WILL NOT post anything you don’t give me your consent to post.
How will you ensure the security & privacy of my session?
I’m going to be 100% honest with you; in this modern era, there is NO guarantee that our information is safe. Anyone who tells you otherwise, is not to be trusted. The only thing I can guarantee, is that I will use every precaution and cybersecurity measure to protect your information to the best of my ability.
For Robyn Michelle Photography, that means not eternally storing your information after it has been delivered to you. I don’t want to risk hacking or theft that comes with long-term storage of your private & intimate information. Although I use every cybersecurity measure on my end such as a secure website, secure client vault, regular updates of passwords, etc… once I deliver your images to you, it will become your responsibility to protect your files. I will delete any photos from your client vault, and only keep my favorites from your session on an external secure hard drive & not stored on any computer, digital vault or cloud.
In addition to cybersecurity measures, I also require all clients pick up their albums, prints, USB, etc.. directly from the studio once they are ready. This furthers your security, by ensuring your intimate images don’t end up at the wrong address or stolen from being left on your porch post delivery.
Do you accept payment options if I can’t pay in full upfront?
I believe that all women deserve a boudoir experience, and that is why I accept interest free payment plans. The way it works is, you would pay a mutually agreed upon amount every month, and when I receive the final payment, I will release your images to you.
What if my package doesn’t offer all of the features I’m interested in?
You can add any feature at an extra cost but often times, it’s more cost effective for you to just do the larger packages if the extras are what you are looking for.
Do you travel to places other than Texas?
I’m happy to travel anywhere outside of the Austin area, provided my airfare or travel expenses and hotel are compensated for.
What if I’m too old?
No woman is too old to enjoy a boudoir experience. Even as we age, we are still beautiful and deserving of the chance to discover the qualities that make us uniquely US. You may have a few wrinkles, but I bet you have a smile to die for.
